Vanessa Cowan, PhD

Dr. Vanessa Cowan is an assistant professor of veterinary toxicology in the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM). A lifelong resident of Saskatoon, SK, she attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she completed her Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree (2014) and PhD degree in toxicology (2020). Her PhD research focused on the effects of ergot alkaloid mycotoxin exposure in beef cows and bulls. In 2023, Dr. Cowan graduated from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the WCVM and joined the faculty in July.
